Japan's most human machine

Japan is to robots what Baskin Robbins is to ice cream. And here's Japan's newest robot--and first 'fashion' robot--strutting its, er, her, stuff. Tellingly, this is front page news in many North American online newspapers but on the Japanese sites I regularly visit, hardly a mention.

Why? The Japanese expect cool robots with cute faces. They've been raised on the stuff. When they see another robot walking and blinking, they don't notice with awe the technical accomplishment.

They shrug. "Te oki, ne...". "Her hands are a little big..."
