More Japan through Japanese Eyes

In a recent post I introduced Miko's lovely Chikyu-Biyori blog, a blog written by a Japanese woman and mother of two now living in Hamamatsu, Japan. 

Today I came across one of her recent posts about mochi, a traditional Japanese chewy rice cake snack. The title of Miko's post caught my eye: 

The happiness of a lengthening rice cake.

If you've ever wanted to know more about mochi, Miko's post is a great introduction. And somewhere in that title, somewhere in those rice cakes, is a little Japanese Zen Buddhism.
